Privacy Policy
QuickMaths is designed so that we hold as little of your data as possible: we do not require accounts, we do not store the documents you upload, and analysis results live in your own browser. This policy explains exactly what is processed, by whom and why.
Who we are
QuickMaths (quickmaths.co) is operated by Mina Logic, a software development company, which acts as the data controller for this site. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@minalogicgh.com.
Documents you upload
When you upload a bank statement, receipt, invoice or photo to any QuickMaths tool, the file is:
- encoded in your browser and sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our processing service, which runs on Google Cloud in the London region (europe-west2);
- passed to the Google Gemini API, a third-party artificial intelligence service operated by Google, which reads the document and returns the extracted data. Google processes this content as our service provider under its API terms;
- discarded. We do not save your files or the extracted results on our servers, and we have no database of uploaded documents.
Because uploaded documents typically contain financial information, and may contain names, account numbers and transaction details, you should only upload documents you are entitled to share. Do not upload other people's data unless you have the authority to do so.
Legal basis: we process uploaded documents because processing is necessary to provide the service you are requesting (legitimate interests / performance of the service you initiate).
Analysis history in your browser
The Bank Statement Analyzer can keep a history of your past analyses so you can reopen them. That history is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and you can delete it at any time using "Clear All History" in the tool, or by clearing your browser data.
Advertising and cookies
QuickMaths is free to use and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and to measure them; where ad personalisation applies, ads may be based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any personalised advertising cookies are set, and can decline or change their choice.
- You can control ad personalisation in your Google account at Google Ad Centre, and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Apart from advertising cookies and the local-storage history described above, QuickMaths sets no tracking cookies of its own and runs no third-party analytics.
Abuse protection
To protect the service from automated abuse, the tools may use Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA to verify that requests come from this website. reCAPTCHA works in the background (no puzzles) and is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms. We also apply rate limits based on IP address; IP addresses used for rate limiting are held in memory only and are not logged to any database by us.
What we do not do
- We do not require or store accounts, names, or email addresses.
- We do not store, sell or share your uploaded documents or their contents.
- We do not use the content of your documents for advertising or to train models ourselves. (Processing by the Google Gemini API is governed by Google's API terms.)
International transfers
Our processing runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. While our service is deployed in the UK (London) region, Google may process API requests in other locations under its own safeguards. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses in Google's terms.
Retention
Uploaded documents and results: not retained by us (processed in memory and discarded). Browser history: retained on your device until you delete it. Emails you send us: retained as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have rights over your personal data, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Because we do not store your documents or maintain accounts, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete; the exception is correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any right, email info@minalogicgh.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
QuickMaths is a tax and bookkeeping service aimed at adults running businesses. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the service handles data, we will update this page and its date. Significant changes will be flagged on the homepage.
